Grandad was an absolute riot of a man. One day Stevie was in the Hearts Club watching a Hearts game with Grandad. During the match Stevie spotted someone he knew from Danderhall and happened to say to Grandad "oh I know him". After a conversation as to how they knew each other, Grandad went up to the guy in question and had a wee chat. During this conversation Stevie waved to the guy but got a funny look back. When Kenny returned, Stevie asked what he'd said to him, Kenny replied "I told him, See that guy over there? He's going to batter you".
